Penn Affinity 7000 Reels Review

Penn Affinity 7000 Reel

Penn Affinity 7000 Limited Edition Reel A company renowned in the game fishing world for producing outstanding reels that can withstand the test of time, this is Penn’s first foray into the carp fishing arena. Penn has used all its game fishing experience to design this big pit distance casting machine. This Limited Edition Affinity 7000 model features a long tapered spool with a slow oscillation movement. This not only provides perfect line lay every time, but also enables the reel to achieve staggering distance casts with incredible accuracy.

With 8 +1 stainless steel ball bearings, this reel is a smooth operator and the reduction in friction gives the reel the extended lifespan for which Penn is famous. The manual bale arm has an oversized diameter to give you the ultimate control over your cast, and the Affinity 7000 also features a rotor brake system and quick turn drag system. These three features work together to ensure that your reel performs to the best of its ability on both the cast and the retrieve.

The short-stroke handle of the reel is folding and fitted with a traditional wooden knob. However, the reel is also supplied with an ergonomic rubber handle that gives extra grip for those who require it. The reel is also supplied with a spare forged aluminium spool as standard. Finished in a sophisticated matt black, the Limited Edition Affinity 7000 looks every bit as good as it feels. Penn is the American company with over 75 years experience and 1,400 IFGA fishing titles to its name. Famous for its revolutionary game fishing reels, Penn has worked long and hard to create this carp reel – hopefully the first of many.

All the reels that it produces have been rigorously field tested to ensure they stand up to its outstanding reputation for durability and resilience.

9.3 Total Score
Great Value for money

This reel is definitely up there with some of the high end stuff but at a fraction of the price. It has some lovely features & ultra slim. The clutch could be slightly better but for the money you really can't complain. If your in the market for a set of big pits on a budget then these reels are worth a look for sure.
