The largest UK carp that was ever caught has unfortunately passed away this week. The Big Plated lived in the Wingham Estate’s Carp Lake, where it thrived and was arguably one of the best mirrors in the country.
It was landed at 83¼lb last November, which was over 30lb above its natural weight. Many of the members hoped that it would pull through, but it wasn’t to be.
