Emily’s charity carp matches

The members of Furness Fishing Club Reservoir in Cumbria are inviting anglers to join them in raising money for the family of four-year-old Emily Mather, who has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer tumour.

Two matches have been scheduled on the Reservoir later this spring, 13-14th May and 27-28th May, which members hope will raise as much money as possible to provide support for Emily’s family while their daughter undergoes chemotherapy ahead of a trip to America, where she will receive proton-beam therapy.

Entry to the matches is only open to members, priced at £20 for one match, or £30 for both of them. Non-members can show their support by purchasing raffle tickets, priced at £3 a strip and available to buy from the Angling and Hiking Centre in Barrow-in-Furness. There are dozens of prizes in the raffle, provided by the likes of Gardner Tackle, Essential Baits, Korda, Fosters of Birmingham, Vass, Dynamite Baits, Monster Particle, DNA Baits, Trakker Products, CC Moore and loads, loads more.

Two amazing foreign angling trips, a 48-hour session on the exclusive Monkey Climber syndicate in Belgium, and a week at Lac Baleine in France, will also be auctioned off to raise extra funds. Full details about these auction prizes are available via the ‘Emily’s Charity Carp Match’ Facebook page.

Anybody wishing to donate direct can do so via the www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/joanne-khandurrani website.
