Dragon Island

Dragon Island, a private carp fishing lake in the Champagne region of France. The service, the carp stock with several carp over 65lb, the excellent bailiff Lenny, the swims and a clubhouse where you can find all your needs. The lake can offer you anything you prefer and with only 6 double swims on 40 acres there is plenty enough space for everyone! Because the lake has several small islands that limit the fishing zones and the view of the other swims you will have a lot privacy during your stay. Dragon Island is a private lake for anglers who expect privacy, big carp and good service on a pleasant distance.

The carp stock of Dragon Island exists out of a beautiful mix of commons and scaly mirrors.

With a record mirror carp of 70lb, his ‘smaller’ sisters of 66lb and 65lb and at least 14 different carp between 55 and 65lb, this lake will be a challenge for every angler. Besides these big carp the lake also holds at least 40 carp between 45 and 55lb.

The lake has welcomed very few carp anglers in 2016 & 2017 and with a lot of water vegetation the carp had enough natural food. Now, years later… the fish have evolved very well. This means the carp have a big growth potential and are in a perfect shape! Now, years later… the carp have evolved amazingly and are bigger and stronger than ever before. There is no bream, catfish or sturgeon present and the carp have not received many angling pressure. Please be aware that Dragon Island is a challenging lake suitable for anglers with some experience of fishing weedy lakes and know how to use a boat and echo sounder.

The majority or the carp have been selected by hand and stocked by the current owner. In the winter period, the carp are fed with pellets multiple times a week to keep them in an optimal condition. In the winter of 2019/2020 two stockings have taken place: in November 2019 48 carp between 35 – 60lb were stocked. In December 2019 we have been extremely proud to welcome 46 beautiful carp from Etang 5 into Dragon Island: 1x 67lb, 7 carp between 45-55lb, 35 carp between 35-45lb and 3 carp under 35lb. With these 2 magnificent stockings Dragon Island proves to be one of the best big carp venues in North of France!
