The Belgium estate De Karperhoeve in Oosterlo has a rich history… where once was a ‘haunted’ swamp, you can now find a beautiful estate for carp anglers. With 15-acres, Timmy’s Lake is the biggest and hardest of all lakes at the estate. Because of weed present, the fish have a lot of natural food and grow to big weights, with the biggest carp of 57lb caught so far! Timmy’s Lake will impress you with its fish, service and delicious food package on site. And because of the convenient drive just over 2.5-hours from Calais, you can book a weekend, midweek or week!
The angling pressure on the lake has been very high over the last years. The current stock of carp has grown quite good over the last decades due to an abundance of natural food sources such as bloodworms. In the winter of 2019 / 2020 we have made significant investments in the lake, including a stocking of 166 common carp and 2 mirror carp in January 2020 and a stocking of 45 beautifully scaled mirror carp, 1 ghost carp and 4 common carp in February 2020. We now estimate the carp stock at around 700 pieces, of which about 100x 35lb+, +/- 10 fish over 40lb and 1x 50lb+. In addition to the ‘normal’ carp and some koi, there are also about 130 grass carp swimming on the lake to prevent weed growth as well as possible. This in combination with the bait of the anglers is a perfect diet for the carp.
