It is only since 2015 that Jelle, the owner, started his lifetime project in an abandoned nature reserve in Belgium named; Carpinsula. He turned this no man land into a real carp fishing paradise with only one goal in mind; bringing carp fishing and nature together with leaving the smallest footprint possible! After three years of intense preparations, it is our pleasure to introduce to you 5 different idyllic lakes. All just for a maximum of two anglers! So do you prefer privacy, beautiful surroundings, a subtle way of fishing and are you not afraid for some snags?… Definitely have a look at Mint Pool.
Jelle is a fish breeder and handpicked his most beautiful fish for his lakes. This is the easiest lake of them all but don’t underestimate the Mint Pool. The stock is 50 carp, several grass carp, and two silver carp over 45lb. The average weight of +/- 20lb and several fish are over 35lb. All beautiful scaled fish so it is definitely worth it! Since the birth of the fish, they have been followed by Jelle that measured their growth. If you catch a fish over 30lb without a name, it is your (turn) to name him. Besides carp, there is some roach, tench and pike but not a lot. This makes it perfect for fishing with small baits. De carp got fed during the winter season and will not be chased by anglers. In this period Jelle is feeding the fish with Halibut Pellets and the Carpinsula Super Mix. The fish love these baits that you can also buy on site.
The pond can fit a maximum of 2 anglers (6 rods in total). Because of the variety of options from the peninsula, we would advise fishing with bank stick instead of a rod pod.
