Wicks Mere CAA

With 4 carp now over 40lb, many over 30lb and plenty of upper 20s and Pike to 25lb this is an attractive environment that greets the angler as he arrives at the car park located at the top of a track leading down to this excellent fishery. Parking space for disabled anglers (max. 4 cars) has been made available at the bottom of the track. Average depth is 10 feet (max. 20 feet). This lake is stocked with Rudd, Roach, Bream, Tench, Carp Perch and eels. Pike are also showing with confirmed reports of these predators being caught in excess of 25 lb, although the general size being 3-12 lb. Wick Mere has shown a tremendous improvement over the past few seasons and Bream (2lb.-9lb.) show particularly well during the summer months. Tench show less well although there is a stock of them between 2lb.-9lb.. Carp put in a good appearance with fish ranging from 15lb to 20lb. Roach and skimmers making a come back with occasional specimen Roach approaching 2lb being caught. Night fishing available with valid permit. Open for fishing from 1st May.
