On the beautiful Domaine de Saint Fraimbault estate, not far from the well-known town of Le Mans in Western-France, Mr. de Goulaine and manager Thomas Chesnier welcome you with open arms. The large (43,2 acres) lake Etang de la Livardière is part of the estate that has been a family property for centuries. The 1000 acres+ estate is famous for its exclusive hunting parties in wintertime. It did cost us plenty of time to convince the owner to prepare the lake for carp fishing, but we managed to do so. The result is astonishing! After a successful field test in 2007, we are pleased to have added this lake to our range. Now, many years later, the lake has developed itself and has become one of our most popular venues with a challenging carp stock and beautiful surroundings.
The nature on the estate is simply astonishing! Not only the lake with its wild look, peninsulas, islands, bays and various depths (ranging from 1 – 12 feet), but also the lovely forest which makes the perfect picture for a French carp fishing holiday. The lake itself is over 70 years old and has been dug to extract gravel and sand for the highway around the city of Le Mans. The bottom structure of Etang de la Livardière is a mixture of light mud, sand, gravel and some patches of weed. Use of a boat is therefore highly recommended to find hotspots in depth and bottom structure.
