Chigborough Carp Lake is a beautiful, mature, tree-lined lake in Heybridge, Essex. It is an old gravel pit of 10.5 acres, set in 20 acres of peaceful grassland surrounded by woodland.
The lake was dug in the 1960s for gravel and is now a secure fishery run as a syndicate for anglers by anglers.
There are islands, points, reeds, lily-pads, gravel and silt, and the depth ranges from four to seven feet.
Chigborough is renowned for being a good winter water, and would suit all anglers preferences; whether you wish to sit behind your rods, or roam the banks stalking near the lily-pads.
