The 2017 UK Carp Championships continued with a couple of hard-fought matches in the Pairs competition.
Pairs qualifier – Cottington Lake Pepper: Sam Hoskins set a new personal best with a 37¼lb mirror on the way to winning the qualifier with her partner Juan Betancourt on 56½lb. Second place went to David Mason and Mark Woolford on 23lb 5oz, with third going to Wayne Mansford and Ryan Need on 20lb 2oz, and fourth to Steve Sexton and Damian Watts on 16lb 15oz.
Pairs qualifier – Farlows Lake Two: AJ Collier and Harry Pardoe ran away with this qualifier, landing 12 fish for a total weight of 213¼lb. Mark Renwick and Tom Hughes took second place on 97lb 9oz, and the final qualification spot went to Len Seward and Toby Simpson on 88¼lb.
