Orrell Charvil Complex is a carp lake based in Twyford, Wokingham, United Kingdom. It has a stock of around carp and is 3 Acres in size. The biggest carp is over 20lb+
This beautiful 10 swim (car park side only) gravel lake has been stocked with well over 600 Carp since 2010, ranging in weight from 2lb up to 10lb with both Dinton’s and VS Fisheries Carp ,all fish have been putting on between 4 to 8lb each year. When they reach around 15lb the best looking fish are then weighed, photographed both sides and transferred into the main Canberra lake to grow on to bigger fish.
Depths vary from 6ft to 12 ft and doesn’t have as much weed as the main lake during the summer, the Carp are caught from the far over hanging bushes as well as in the near margins which in each swim are well over 6ft and deeper, making it an ideal route for the Carp to swim along looking for food.
There were a few original Carp in there which still have not been caught since we acquired the complex, as the stockies seems to be on the bait first. Although many of the first batch of stockies are now being caught at 20lb plus.
Tench to 12lb, plus Large Bream, Perch, Pike, Roach,Rudd and this season a few Dace which must have come in from the river when it was high. This is the nearest lake to the car park and a carp barrow is not really needed.
