Big Pit White Springs Coarse Fishery is a carp lake based in Pontarddulais, Swansea, United Kingdom. It has a stock of around carp and is 5 Acres in size. The biggest carp is over 25lb+
This lake was originally two lakes that were joined together to form one large and very complex lake. The original lakes were The Old Canal and the Old Pit Lake. The lake holds a stunning range of fish and has many features that make it a pleasure to fish.
It is called the Big Pit for a very good reason, for at one end (inlet side) the depth of water reaches 18ft and at the shallow end (outlet side) it is about 8ft. The bottom is mainly a silty bottom with the base of the lake being peat and clay.
This large and in places very deep lake not only caters to the casual angler but also to the match and more serious angler. The lake boasts carp to 28lb and large Tench, Perch and dinner sized plates of Bream with multiple islands and features so it works well fishing everything from the pole for the smaller fish to using ledger and feeder tactics to using boilies and same principles as the Specimen Lake.
